ROAD WARRIORS OF FREMANTLE

Drive Guide

It’s the drive of dreams. It begins in Fremantle and about half an hour later ends in Cottesloe – except that it doesn’t end, because it’s all so beautiful you just want to turn around and do it all again. That is, after you’ve had your coffee, gelato or fish and chips while taking in the endless panorama of the Indian Ocean and the limitless sky, which is nearly always a brilliant blue. It’s the most gorgeous drive imaginable, but it has the ugliest name – The Bog Lap, extending the slang term given to the lap of Fremantle’s Cappuccino Strip, which is where it all started.

About Ben

Documenting Western Australia's Car Culture

In 2013, my Cottesloe-Fremantle drive sparked my passion for capturing Western Australia's unique car culture. Using an old Contax medium format camera, I embrace film photography to authentically capture cool cars. My expertise also extends to videography for bespoke commissions. My work pays tribute to the enduring charm and legacy of these iconic vehicles, honoring the rich heritage and individuality of Western Australia's car culture.
